Joining the Committee
Work with other dedicated undergraduate leaders to put on events and create opportunities for our peers. If you have experience or are looking to gain skills in any of the areas below, we welcome you to join us in organizing the Hackathon.
We are currently looking for additional Committee members for the following teams:
Major Specific Event Planning
What you’ll do
- Network with faculty and professionals in your major/field to invite them to attend, mentor, or speak at the Hackathon or related events
- Taking point any “Countdown to the Hackathon” Events
- Work in smaller teams of students with similar majors
- Advise “Team Coordination / Logistics” team in developing “tracks” for the Hackathon

Fundraising & Finance
What you’ll do
- Oversee hackathon budget
- Liaise with the Office of the Provost’s Finance & Administration team when working with Husky Seed Fund Grant funds
- Plan & oversee any additional fundraising efforts
- Will work closely with “Marketing & Communications” team

- Financial control and budgeting

Design & Content Creation
What you’ll do
- Assist our Design Lead in developing the Hackathon’s aesthetic and brand image
- Create eye-catching social media posts on various platforms to reach a diverse audience
- Maintain a focus on accessibility in all content
- Will work closely with “Marketing & Communications” team

Marketing & Communications
What you’ll do
- Identifying effective communication channels for Hackathon-related messaging for outreach
- Manage all Hackathon social media platforms
- Writing copy for social media posts and email communications
- Will work closely with “Finance & Fundraising,” “Design & Content Creation,” and “Communications” teams

Team Coordination / Logistics
What you’ll do
- Facilitate full team meetings
- Monitor project progress, set deadlines, and delegate tasks for the whole team accordingly
- Regularly check in with other teams for progress updates
- Provide support & assistance to all other teams as needed

Technical Support
What you’ll do
- Assisting our Technical Lead in developing and managing the Hackathon’s website
- Managing the Interdisciplinary Hackathon Events Discord Server

- Experience with important languages & development environments related to web development, (e.g. Github, Bootstrap, Visual Studio Code, HTML, CSS, JS, etc.)
- Able to collaborate with other teammates
